There’s a special role for a GP with community at heart in this one year assignment just north of Wellington city. Professional challenge and satisfaction in a supportive team by day, and the whole gamut of cultural and outdoors activities on weekends.  Hiking, cycle trails, farmers markets, one of the most well known museums in NZ – you’ll be spoilt for choice.

THE ROLE

  • Long term locum, suitable for GPEP 2 or 3
  • 10 patients per session
  • 12 month placement

THE PRACTICE and THE TEAM
The kaupapa (purpose) of this organisation is about serving the communities living in the Lower Hutt area.  There are three locations staffed by a passionate, non-hierarchical team that values everyone’s contribution. Nine doctors, 7 nurses, 3 nurse prescribers, a clinical assistant and a robust admin team provide a multi-disciplinary health service.

 

LOCATION
Lower Hutt is a bustling centre on the outer edges of the Wellington district. Population 114,000, it offers all the amenities of an established town with the bigger city lights just a 30 minute train or car ride away. Visit the Dowse Museum, meander by bike or foot along Hutt River and check out the many other hikes and reserves. The popular weekend farmers market will provide your picnic essentials for exploring the Kaitoke Regional Park or the Rimutaka cycle trail.
